i am a commuter

It's time to fill you in on what I am working currently on.

As a BTech student, I was challenged to solve a problem with the use of fashion. This lead me to designing a range of ladies commuter wear. So why is this solving a problem? With the trend of cycling to work or any destination growing daily, various fashion brands, such as Levi's, have taken the initiative and designed a commuter range for men. This is a great way to build more awareness around commuting by bicycle and also serves as encouragement to man to commute this way more. But what about the ladies? Women also commute by bicycle but nothing has been design to make ther ride more comfortable. This is were I come in. My commuter range is being designed to make the ride more comfortable for ladies, encourage them to ride more, which will lead to a healthier liefstyle and bike by bike, help save the enviroment, all this whilst looking fashionable and ready to take on the day. 

So far I am still in the development stage of my proposal but I will soon start designing and making up the range. The process is long but effective, so as it progresses I will keep yuo updated. I hope that this short piece has awaken an excitement inside of you, I know I am excited. Ghost - 2012

Ghost is my range for my  third year at CPUT in 2012. The idea behind Ghost was that all my clothing would be shades of white with a spot colour. let me introduce myself.




If you reading this blog, one of the thoughts that have probably popped into your mind are, “who is this random chick?”  Well, let me introduce myself to you... I am a fashion design student doing my BTech year at CPUT in Cape Town. I stay in a flat which I share with two of my close friends, who also study design, which is always packed with entertaining moments. I originally grew up on a farm just outside George and have always dreamed of working in the fashion industry in the big city. Living in Cape Town has been an amazing experiance, like only Cape Town can be. With this blog, I shall be giving you a place to view my work, keep you updated with what I am currently doing and also plan on discussing the latest fashion trends, adding things I love (heart) and of course, things that I am not too fond of. Please feel free to comment on anything, letting me know how you feel about things.
